Upton Tree Walk
September 30, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT
Don’t miss this opportunity to walk & talk with Upton community leaders and forestry experts about the importance of urban trees and hear the successes and challenges of their project. We’ll also dive into topics like managing invasive species, growing community gardens, and the impact of living in a city made up of impervious surfaces. Ever considered urban foraging? We’ll chat about that too. And don’t forget the importance of long term tree care. This walk will be led by the Upton CDC in partnership with Baltimore Tree Trust and TreeBaltimore.
- The stroll through the neighborhood will last about 2 hours but will only cover a few city blocks. It will be mostly on pavement, but prepare for some twists and turns on uneven ground.
- The event is closed to the public. If you would like to bring a guest, drop us a quick email first.
- Food will be included at the end of the walk, when we’ll also plant a tree together.
- When? Saturday, September 30th, 10am-12pm
- Where? Meet at 1221 Argyle Ave. Street parking available.
