City on the development of the City ADA Transition Plan

The City of Baltimore is cordially inviting all residents to engage with the City on the development of the City ADA Transition Plan on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, from 5:30PM to 7:30PM. During this meeting, DOT will have a short presentation followed by Q&A as we record public input. Refreshments will also be provided for in-person attendees. Please see the attached flyer for the physical location and Webex link. The meeting information can also be found on the Baltimore City Department of Transportation’s website  https://transportation.baltimorecity.gov/upcoming-public-meetings

Public input is essential to creating and maintaining the City’s ADA Transition Plan as a living document, along with helping DOT to prioritize future accessibility projects. The City ADA Transition Plan will help to identify physical accessibility barriers along the City of Baltimore’s public rights-of-way.*  The plan will also provide a framework for making the City’s public rights-of-way accessible to individuals with disabilities by remedying existing infrastructure barriers.

*Public right-of-way infrastructure elements that will be addressed in the City ADA Transition Plan include sidewalks, pedestrian paths, curb ramps, street crossings, median crossings, driveway crossings, crosswalks, public transit stops, and pedestrian-accessible traffic signal systems.

Please share this Citywide ADA Meeting with family members, friends, and neighbors.

Sincerely, Chaquetta Wallace Liaison Officer 1Department of Transportation Community Engagement Division Districts: 3, 7, 12, and 14

Voluntary Water Restriction Notice

Baltimore City Department of Public Works Interim Director Richard J. Luna is pleased to report that the City’s water system continues to perform well as DPW works to restore operations at the Cromwell Pumping Station. A fire at the station, which occurred Thursday, July 13, caused the facility to lose electricity and heavily damaged equipment in the station

Residents and businesses are urged to continue adhering to the Voluntary Water Restriction Notice to reduce their excessive water usage. This system-wide voluntary water conservation request remains in effect for Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County.

Important note: the current request for ‘Voluntary Water Restriction’ does not include any need to limit normal water usage for drinking, cooking, or cleaning.
